Skills Institute Australia (SIA) has a policy of maintaining and uphold a high standard of integrity for all staff.
One of implications of this high standard is SIA’s policy that all staff require a police check.
Police checks are becoming more and more common in a range of industries, specifically including schools and other educational institutions.
Note that in the event that any current staff member has an item listed on their police check, this does not necessarily mean that they cannot be employed at SIA. SIA will review all staff according to the attached document and will notify any person if further investigation is required. All staff will be given due process, which means that if needed, you will have the opportunity to explain any items on your police check.
In general, only extreme or very serious offences are considered incompatible with employment at SIA. Please see the attached policy for more details.
Your police check will be kept securely.
There are a number of different online sites where you can obtain a police check.
