Skills Institute Australia

Vocational Education and Training

Southern Cross University

Skills Institute Australia is proud to announce our articulation into Southern Cross University (SCU) Bachelor qualifications.

Bachelor of Business

Business professionals of tomorrow need more than an understanding of core business disciplines – they need adaptability, curiosity and agility to respond to a changing future.
The Bachelor of Business will give you the practical skills for business decision-making in the modern business context and the capability to recognise and act on opportunities for a future different to today. As a student you will learn foundational business principles in law, accounting, economics, management and statistics and more, and also choose to pursue specialist knowledge from a diverse range of majors.
As graduates of the Bachelor of Business you will gain the professional, critical thinking and communication skills to prepare you as practitioners for a broad range of sectors, including in marketing, product management, investment, finance and more.
The Bachelor of Business is designed for maximum flexibility – you can study the Bachelor of Business on campus or online.

Bachelor of Business in Convention and Event Management

The Bachelor of Business in Convention and Event Management from Southern Cross Unviersity positions graduates at the centre of the fast-growing events industry. Students acquire the skills and knowledge required to pursue a career in the management, planning and marketing of corporate events, conventions and meetings, festivals and special events.
A compulsory six-month internship is a key feature of this course and counts as four compulsory units of the degree. During this internship, students establish valuable industry experience, and develop their professional confidence and networks.
This course offers an optional international exchange program for second-year students to study overseas.

Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management

The opportunity to spend the rest of your career in a five star hotel is enough to get most people excited. This degree can get you there – just so long as you’re prepared to be one of the people running it.
Tourism and hospitality is a fast-paced industry, offering fantastic opportunities for mobility to professional and skilled practitioners.
Students in the Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management complete a 14 week internship as part of their studies and also have the opportunity to participate in an optional international exchange program in second year, to build their experience abroad.
Whether you want to work in luxury travel, resorts, events and entertainment or travel management, the course will prepare you with transferable skills for a career rich with diversity.
You will have the opportunity to specialise in event, hospitality or tourism management, underpinned by a foundation in business operations. You will have opportunities for field trips and networking with other people from the travel and hospitality industries, who will share your passion and may provide access to potential job opportunities.

Skills Institute Australia programs have been granted advanced standing into SCU degrees as detailed below. When you complete a course with SIA, SCU will allow you to complete one of their degrees with less units than if you enrol directly into their course.

The approved credits are detailed here.

All applicant who proceed from SIA to SCU must satisfy SCU’s Admission Principles and English language requirements.

At actual enrolment, each student should check that they comply with the program requirements applicable at that time.
