This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as marketing directors, marketing strategists and national, regional or global marketing managers. Individuals in these positions provide leadership and strategic direction in the marketing activities of an organisation. They analyse, design and execute judgements using wide-ranging technical, creative, conceptual and managerial competencies. Their knowledge base may be highly specialised or broad within the marketing field. These individuals are often accountable for group outcomes and for the overall performance of the marketing function of an organisation.
This course is delivered over 52 weeks of full time study at 20 hours per week of scheduled class time at the Skills Institute Australia training facility south of Brisbane. This includes six weeks holidays.

This qualification is delivered face-to-face in the classroom. There is a new intake each month.
All students must be at least 18 years of age.
- Satisfactory completion of year 12 or equivalent
- Overseas students require a language proficiency of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
There are no specific academic prerequisites for any of the units in this course, however it is preferred that individuals considering this qualification have achieved the Diploma in Marketing or other relevant qualifications or have substantial vocational marketing experience, with overall responsibility for providing strategic direction and planning for an organisation’s marketing function, either domestically or internationally.
To complete this course, it is expected that you will have access to:
- A computer with Windows XP or higher
- DVD-ROM drive
- Media Player
These facilities are available on campus.
All of the learning materials and test books required to complete this course will be provided.

This course provides participants with the skills to obtain the occupational position across various industrial sectors. Job roles and titles vary across these different industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include:
- marketing director
- marketing strategist
- national, regional or global marketing manager
Individuals who successfully complete the Advanced Diploma of Marketing may continue to tertiary study in the field of marketing or business
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Students who have completed any of the units of study or have practical experience that may be used for recognition of prior learning must contact Skills Institute Australia prior to enrollment.
As this is a competency based program, assessment continues throughout the duration of the course until the participant either achieves competency in the assessment tasks or a further training need is identified and addressed.
